Nathalie Miebach: Weaving Weather Data into sculptural forms
February 2012: Imagine taking weather data from massive storms and turning it into complex system made of sculptures which are a 3D visualisation of data. Top it off with musical compositions. Strange but true. This is what Nathalie Miebach does.
While Miebach has a Masters of Arts degree in Sculpture, she has taken various courses in physics and astronomy, which must have added the indepth knowledge to her interpretation of weather date into 3D art forms and music. Data, often, doesn’t have any physical presence except, perhaps as numbers, typical graphs or illustratory figures. So take the weather data and put it into tangible forms that are artistic and attract curiosity and admiration, and you have a one of a kind artform.
